Payment methods
OOPbuy accepts PayPal and international credit cards. PayPal covers the major networks worldwide (VISA, Mastercard, American Express, JCB) plus some local bank cards. Whatever currency your account is in, PayPal converts the payment to USD, so you can buy Chinese products without a Chinese debit card or CNY.
You can pay an order directly, or pre-load your OOPbuy balance and pay from it later.
Recharge: timing & fees
- Speed: PayPal and card top-ups are usually real-time, landing within 1–60 minutes.
- PayPal fee: about 3.7% + $0.30 per transaction, reflecting exchange-rate and cross-border costs.
- Electronic check: PayPal e-checks clear in 5–7 working days before the balance appears.
- Risk freeze: if PayPal flags a payment for review, it usually clears in about 3 working days; if rejected, it's refunded to your source.
If you topped up and the money was deducted but didn't arrive after an hour, send customer service the time, method, account, amount and transaction number (or forward the third-party success email) for verification.
Withdrawals
To move an unused balance back, go to User Center > My Assets (Balance) > Withdrawal and submit a request. The amount is frozen while finance processes it (about 2–3 working days), then it returns to your original payment method the same way it came in.
| Original method | Time back to your account |
|---|---|
| PayPal balance | ~2–3 working days |
| International credit card (via PayPal) | ~3–10 working days |
| Giropay / MyBank / iDEAL | ~3–10 working days |
| Alipay balance | ~2–3 working days |
| WeChat balance | ~2–3 working days |
| Poli | No direct refund; withdraw via another channel such as PayPal |
Refunds
For a card refund, open My Assets > Refund, confirm the transaction method is your credit card, enter an amount no higher than the figure shown, and submit. It returns to the original card; the status reads "processed" once done. Cancelled or returned orders are refunded to your OOPbuy balance automatically.
When something goes wrong
Payment shows as failed
If your bank or PayPal confirms success but OOPbuy shows failure, contact customer service with the transaction details. The usual causes are incorrect payment information or a browser glitch — clear cookies or try another browser, then pay again.
Transaction "under review"
Some PayPal/card payments need a quick review before processing. If a payment sits "under review" past 24 hours, check your email or inbox — OOPbuy may need supporting documents. If you don't reply within 72 hours, the transaction may be cancelled and refunded.
Account locked
An account is usually locked for one of two reasons: a transaction is awaiting verification (provide what's asked and it's unlocked once approved), or a dispute/chargeback was raised on a PayPal or card payment (the system auto-locks; cancel the chargeback and tell OOPbuy to unlock). While locked, purchasing, parcel delivery and refunds are paused.
