OOPbuy FAQ

OOPbuy Basics
Is OOPbuy a seller or an agent?
OOPbuy is an agent (also called a "buying agent" or "daigou"). It does not sell products itself — it buys products from Chinese platforms on your behalf, inspects them at its warehouse, and ships them internationally.
Do I need an account to use OOPbuy?
Yes. Orders, QC photos, parcel submission, and shipping tracking all live in your account. Browsing categories on the Spreadsheet does not require login.
What currencies can I pay in?
OOPbuy prices in CNY internally but accepts most common payment methods in USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, and AUD. The exchange rate is locked at checkout, so no Chinese card or CNY is needed.
Three things to know before your first order?
(1) OOPbuy is an agent for third-party platforms, not the seller, so it isn't liable for the products themselves. (2) You pay twice — product + Chinese domestic shipping first, then international shipping later. (3) International logistics is handled by third parties and carries customs risk that you accept.
Where do my items go before they ship to me?
To OOPbuy's warehouse in Xiamen, Fujian. Sellers ship there first; OOPbuy inspects and stores your items, then consolidates everything you choose into one international parcel.
Is this site affiliated with OOPbuy?
No. This is an independent English guide site. We explain how OOPbuy works and link to the main site. We do not process payments or ship parcels.
Spreadsheet & Product Links
What is the OOPbuy Spreadsheet?
A category browser that groups OOPbuy listings (shoes, hoodies, tees, bags, etc.) so you can find what you want faster. Each entry links back to the main site where you place the actual order.
How do I move from the Spreadsheet to the main site?
Click any category or item entry — it opens on the OOPbuy main site with the product pre-loaded. Log in there to actually submit the order.
Can I submit any Taobao / 1688 link?
Yes. OOPbuy accepts links from Taobao, Tmall, 1688, Weidian, Xianyu, and most Chinese platforms. Some restricted categories (certain electronics, chemicals, weapons) are rejected.
Why does a Spreadsheet link open an empty page?
The seller may have delisted the item or it is sold out. Check the Spreadsheet for a recent alternative in the same category.
Ordering & Payment
How fast are orders processed?
Orders placed 09:00–18:00 Beijing time are processed within about 6 hours; orders placed 18:00–09:00 are processed before 14:00 the next day. The agent then fulfils the order within 24 hours after you confirm or pay any balance.
What fees does OOPbuy charge?
There is no purchasing service fee for major platforms (Taobao, Tmall, 1688, JD, etc.). Your total = product cost (including Chinese domestic shipping to the warehouse) + international shipping + a customs declaration fee (around ¥8, depending on line). Value-added services are optional extras. See Fees Explained.
Do I really pay twice?
Yes. Product + domestic shipping first (when you order), then international shipping later (when you submit the parcel). This two-step payment is normal for buying agents.
Why am I asked to pay an extra (supplementary) amount?
If the real product price or Chinese domestic freight is higher than what you paid, OOPbuy sets a top-up for the difference. The agent can only place the order once the balance is paid.
Can I modify my order after submitting it?
Before the seller ships, OOPbuy will try to negotiate the change. After the seller ships, it can't be changed — you'd request a return once it reaches the warehouse and re-order the variant you want, paying the return shipping yourself.
The listing said "in stock" but OOPbuy says out of stock?
Seller stock can change between listing and purchase. If an item is out of stock, OOPbuy notifies you; if you don't reply within 72 hours, the order is cancelled automatically and refunded to your balance.
How long until the seller ships?
Usually 3–7 days, depending on the seller (JD / Amazon self-fulfilled is often same-day). If nothing ships by day 4, the agent follows up with the seller for you.
QC & Warehouse
When can I see QC photos?
After the product arrives at OOPbuy's warehouse, usually within a few days of the seller shipping. You'll get an in-account notification.
My order says "Received" but I can't see the item — why?
"Received" means it has arrived at the warehouse and is being weighed and inspected. Once the status becomes "Stored", it appears on your Warehouse page and can be added to a parcel.
What should I inspect in QC photos?
Size tags, stitching, logos, soles, hardware, and colour match to the product page. Zoom in; ask for extra angles if anything looks off.
What is NOT covered by inspection?
Colour difference, size error and "usage effect" aren't judged. Electronics and digital items aren't function-tested (quality, model and spare parts are out of scope). Sealed CD / handmade / adult products are only checked for outer damage, not opened.
Can I request a re-check or replacement?
Yes. Reject the QC and leave a note. Replacement time depends on seller availability — expect 3–14 extra days.
How long can items stay in the warehouse?
The free storage window is typically 90 days from warehouse arrival. After that, daily storage fees apply. Check the exact current policy in your account before relying on this.
Can I consolidate items from multiple orders?
Yes. Add all in-warehouse items to a single parcel before submitting. Consolidation is the single biggest shipping saving available.
Parcel Submission
What is parcel submission?
You select which in-warehouse items go in one box, pick a shipping line, and request OOPbuy to pack and weigh the parcel. After that you pay the final shipping. See how to submit a parcel.
What is parcel rehearsal?
A packing simulation that estimates box size, packed weight, and volumetric weight before you commit — reducing surprises on final shipping cost. See parcel rehearsal.
Can I add optional services?
Yes — shoe-box removal, tag removal, bubble-wrap, waterproof bag, etc. Some services have small fees, others are free; the fee schedule shows in the form.
How long until my parcel ships?
After shipping payment, typically 1–3 days to hand over to the carrier. Peak season (Nov–Jan) can stretch this.
Shipping & Billing
Why is final shipping different from the estimate?
Estimates use item weight only. Final shipping uses packed weight or volumetric weight (whichever is larger), measured after boxing. Differences of 10–30% are normal.
How do I choose a shipping line?
Pick by country first, then weight band, then the speed-vs-cost trade-off. Brand-logo or electronic items usually need a sensitive line. See the shipping page for a full comparison.
Will I pay customs / import tax?
Possibly, depending on destination country and parcel value. OOPbuy doesn't pre-pay tax; you handle any charges at destination customs.
What if my parcel is lost or damaged?
Contact OOPbuy support from your account. Most lines include partial or full compensation depending on line type and declared value.
Can I track my parcel?
Yes. The tracking number is in your account after handover. Some lines update slowly for the first few days — this is normal. See logistics & tracking.
Returns, Refunds & After-sales
Can I return or exchange an item?
Yes. Within 5 days of an item being stored, you can apply for the Return / Exchange Guarantee. The agent processes it within about 48 hours, according to the seller's after-sales rules.
Does a return or exchange cost anything?
You get one free return and one free exchange each month. After the free attempts are used, a small processing fee applies (about ¥5 per return and ¥5 per exchange), plus any return shipping.
How long do refunds take?
Once the seller refunds, OOPbuy returns the amount to your balance within roughly 4–10 days. Cancelled or returned orders are refunded to your OOPbuy balance automatically. See payment & withdrawal.
What if there's a quality problem?
Raise it at QC or after delivery. OOPbuy checks with the seller and helps you negotiate. For an already-shipped parcel, use Apply for After-Sales in My Waybill.
Who is responsible for customs seizure or transit loss?
International logistics is provided by third parties and is subject to customs policy, so the residual risk is yours — but OOPbuy warns of route-specific risks before you confirm a parcel, and many lines offer compensation based on declared value.
